Son of Arthur George and Caroline Guiseppa Syfret, of Silwood, Rondebosch, Cape Town, South Africa (Source : C.W.G.C.).

Died on the 17th August 1916 of wounds received the previous day. On the 16th August, two companies of the 1st Northamptonshire (2nd Brigade, 1st Division) captured a German trench (Clark's Trench) on the western edge of High Wood.
